A NerdMiner is about the smallest Bitcoin miner there is: a little board with a display that hunts for a whole block, all on its own.
The original NerdMiner runs on a cheap ESP32 chip, the kind you find in hobby electronics, and it mines in software rather than with a dedicated mining chip. That makes it tiny, silent, and power-sipping, but also very slow: it hashes at thousands of guesses a second where a real miner does trillions.
